Two week comparison
This is really sad people but this is the only picture I took this weekend, I mean, who goes away with their husband for the weekend and doesn't take a photo?!?! And I only took this to send to a friend because this is where we got caught in a rain storm a few months earlier. I need help.
So I technically just finished week three but I'm going to rewind just a little. The first two weeks my diet pretty much consisted of ground turkey mixed with brown rice and lentils (Or just brown rice, lentils and avocado) chicken, raw and cooked veggies (I love roasted veggies), smoothies with vanilla protein powder, lots of apples and bananas and oatmeal for breakfast. Salt and pepper and cilantro are my best friends right now. Luckily I don't mind eating the same thing every day! It's kept life simple, but week three has me venturing out to make new things. My first week with no gluten, no dairy and no sugar was strange. Almost every time I ate a meal I felt "empty". Almost like I was still hungry but I knew I couldn't be. It almost felt like the beginning of a bad headache. But it always went away after about 20 min. My only conclusion is that my body was hungry for sugar. Especially since after a meal is usually when I had my fix! The hardest part of this diet has been the no sugar part! I mean all I can have is a little honey in my oatmeal and tea!! Seriously, this girl looooves her chocolate. Give it to me milky or dark, with nuts or with wine. I'll take it alone, on a donut, in ice cream in a cookie... Heck serve it up on a spoon for all I care! You know what I'm talking about... late nights watching Greys Anatomy with a spoon full of Nutella (don't act like you've never done it!) I'll take it anywhere, anytime. But!! After only two weeks my chocolate craving has lost its edge. I still get them, it's just getting easier to say no.
Here are some before and afters of my two week mark. I will try to take photos every two weeks so you can see the change for yourself.
I'll be honest. I feel like I might be having a flair up. I've hear this happens. It's because all the toxins are being driven out of your body so they come to the surface. I felt like before I took the two week photo I was looking even better. I don't know if I flared up because of my body detoxing, or because the weekend was stressful (we went away for the weekend to Ocean City, which was lovely but packing is always stressful and stress can aggravate psoriasis) or if it was because I had small amounts of dairy while ordering out. Anyway, I'm back home, eating right and trying not to be discouraged.
Super proud of you friend. Thanks for sharing your journey...keep going! Praying for big results!
